2. 副词也可以做补语，但是限制于一些表方位或状态变化的副词，如in/out/away/on/off等。
如：You shouldn't sleep with the light on.
3. 楼主的例子中，答案讲解错误，此题和所谓形容词/副词做补语没有任何关系。
此题需要填入副词短语，以修饰动词stood.
只不过close和closely都可以作副词，本题考查的就是它们的区别。
4. close可以做动词，形容词和副词。作为副词时，表示“靠近，紧挨”之意，表地理概念上的本意，有个固定搭配：close to sb/sth/sw
如：Don't sit close to me, OK?
5. closely只做副词，但是它表示的是引申义：密切地，紧密地，严密地。
如：They keep in touch with each other closely.
6. 本题题意是指两个人挨得很近，为本义，所以只用close就可以了。
7. 同close/closely的区别一样，以下单词又有类似区别：deep/deeply；high/highly，wide/widely等等。
如：He can jump high. high副词，本义“高”。
而I spoke highly of him. highly副词，引申义“高度地（表扬）”。
如果把closely去掉就很明白了，不能说stood to her mother，所以stood后面不能接副词，应该接形容词，表状态
