After school is over, I return home. We usually have supper at seven o’clock.

How can a student love his country (be patriotic)? I find my answer very simple and clear. He must study hard and store up knowledge so as to serve his (the) country in the future. If every student can do according to what I said, the country will certainly be rich and powerful.

Yesterday was my birthday, so some of my classmates sent me presents. Mother prepared a tea party for me. I invited all of them to come and take part in it.

Lan and Fred
Lan and Fred were boys. They were both twelve years old, and they were in the same class in their school. Last Friday afternoon they had a fight in class, and their teacher was very angry. He said to both of them, “Stay here after the lessons this afternoon, and write your names a thousand times.” After the last lesson, all the other boys went home, but Lan and Fred stayed in the classroom with their teacher and begin writing their names.
Then Fred began crying.
The teacher looked at him and said,” Why are you crying, Fred?”
“Because his name’s Lan May, and mine’s Frederick Hollingsworth,” Fred said.

Inside the Russian Embassy in London a KGB colonel puffed a cigarette as he read the handwritten note for the third time. There was no need for the writer to express regret, he though. Correcting this problem would be easy. He would do that in a moment. The thought of it caused a grim smile to appear and joy to his heart. But he pushed away those thoughts and turned his attention to a framed photograph on his desk. His wife was beautiful, he told himself as he remembered the day they were married. That was forty-three years ago, and it had been the proudest and happiest day of his life.

Keep Your Direction 坚持你的方向
What would you do if you failed? Many people may choose to give up. However, the surest way to success is to keep your direction and stick to your goal.
On your way to success, you must keep your direction. It is just like a lamp, guiding you in darkness and helping you overcome obstacles on your way. Otherwise, you will easily get lost or hesitate to go ahead.

Billy had a busy weekend. On Sunday morning, he did his homework. It was easy. In the afternoon, he cleaned the room. Then he cooked the dinner for his parents. He felt very tired. In the evening, after supper, he washed all the dishes. He said his Sunday was too bad.
Tommy had a relaxing weekend. On Sunday morning, he listened to some music at home. It was so great. In the afternoon he went fishing with his father. It was relaxing and exciting. At night, he studied for the test. It was a little difficult.
What did I do on Saturday? Well, I went to the supermarket on Saturday morning. After I came back, I cooked some food for my family. We had a big dinner. In the afternoon, I went to my grandmother’s home and helped her with some cleaning. She’s quite old now, you know. After that, we had a talk for a long time. That night, my friend and I went to a movie. It was great.
A Happy Sunday
I am a middle school student. I come from England. Now I’m studying in No.8 Middle school of Beijing. Today is Sunday. My Chinese friend, Li Hong, invited me to her house. In the morning we did our homework, then we played computer games and watched TV. At moon, I had lunch with the family. Li Hong’s mother made a lot of delicious Chinese food, such as beef, pork, chicken, bean curd(豆腐), cabbage，and dumplings. I enjoyed them very much. I had a very happy Sunday in Li Hong’s home.

I went to summer camp on vacation. On the first day, we went to a beautiful beach. It was a sunny and hot day, so we went swimming. The water was warm and we had great fun. Then the next day, we went to the mountains. There were many trees and I really enjoyed them. On the last day, we had a great party. We sang and danced happily. We didn’t want to leave(离开) the friends and the teachers. I hope I can go to summer camp again next year.
Julia had a very great weekend. On Saturday morning, she went fishing with her father. It was sunny. She wore a cap and a pair of sunglasses. She thought fishing was very interesting. In the afternoon, she did some shopping. She bought a pair of fashion shoes. They were very beautiful. Then she went to visit her uncle by bike. She ate supper in her uncle’s home. She talked happily with her uncle and aunt. She had a busy and funny Sunday.
I had a good time last weekend. On Sunday morning, I stayed at home and did my homework. The homework wasn’t difficult. After that, I played volleyball with my friends. It was tired, but very exciting. In the afternoon, I cooked dinner for my parents. It was a little difficult, I think. After dinner, I went to swim in the river. I can swim very well. I had a relaxing weekend.
